ASLA-MN Water Work Temporary (WWT)
Demonstration Site and Northern Spark Exhibit

northernspark-2012-sq-lrASLA-MN is partnering with Minneapolis Parks Foundation, Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, and Downtown Improvement District to install a temporary park that will act as a demonstration site for the proposed Water Works Park in downtown Minneapolis along the riverfront. The official launch of the site will be at Northern Spark on June 9th!

Volunteers Needed!

volunteersxJoin us on the Minneapolis riverfront on the afternoon of Friday May 18th and/or all day Saturday May 19th to help us install the site. We’ll need help planting, digging, moving, lifting, etc. Dress to get dirty! We’ll provide you with sustenance (food and drink) to keep you going as long as you are willing.

If you are interested, please contact Adrienne at abockheim@gmail.com and let us know which day you can help out. We’ll give you more directions about where to meet, etc.

If you’ve never heard of Northern Spark, it’s a one-night celebration of art and the city. “Northern Spark is a catalyst. See something new in the commonplace. Explore the city after hours. Visit a museum or public space for the first time. Make something for thousands of people. Join friends and fellow enthusiasts in a movable feast throughout the metropolis.” The event takes place from sunset on June 9 to sunrise on June 10.

The 2012 election season is approaching fast and several positions on the ExecutiveCommittee will open this fall.
